Damiana (Turnera aphrodisiaca) is a small shrub with aromatic leaves between 10 and 25mm long that thrives in hot and humid climates and is native to Mexico, Central and South America and the West Indies. The leaves are used to make a distinctive and fragrant tea.
Damiana was used as an aphrodisiac by the ancient Mayans, and for over a century it has been used by the modern populations of both Central and South America as a way of strengthening the body.
The volatile oils are probably part of the reason that this tea is also used as a loving cup and the content of sitosterol may also account for this.

The t bags arrived promptly in a neat plastic container. smelling the t bags initially reminded me of marjuana ( away which I don't mind, but am trying the herbs for menopausal symptoms not to get high!) I thought they would taste awful so get the honey out. Was pleasantly surprised the tea was quite pleasant. Did feel a mild sedating effect straight which I am hoping will help with menopausal dizziness. Also felt mentally more alert today which was a blessing. So far so good.
