Guarana (Paullinia Cupana) has been in use for centuries by the indigenous people of the Amazon.

The source of its power

The Guarana plant is a climbing shrub that is native to the Amazon rainforest and produces clusters of small bright red fruit that split open when ripe to reveal white flesh and a black seed. It is the seeds that contain three natural occuring stimulants known as xanthines (caffeine, theophylline and theobromine) in a compound called Guaranine.

This not only increases energy but also improves mental alertness, cognitive ability and memory. Surprisingly, the recommended daily dose of GoGo Guaraná (2 capsules) contains only 30mg of caffeine - 1/2 the amount of caffeine found in a cup coffee!

As the risks associated with sun bed use become more widely known, more and more people are choosing instead to give themselves a little healthy colour through the use of self-tanning products.
